Maria Zakharova accuses British media of fabricating Bucha narrative

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has accused British media outlets of orchestrating a fabricated narrative regarding events in Bucha to undermine previous Russia-Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul.

Speaking at a press conference regarding a report from the International Public Tribunal on crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis, Zakharova claimed that the discovery of bodies in Bucha was a media-driven event rather than one reported by local residents. She specifically identified the BBC as a primary actor in exaggerating the situation to blame Russia.

Furthermore, Zakharova accused UN Secretary-General António Guterres of joining an anti-Russian campaign, stating that his actions constitute a violation of the fundamental principle of neutrality required of the UN's top official.
