Mariachi and Charrería festivals held in Colima and Durango

Various regions in Mexico are hosting festivals celebrating mariachi music and charrería traditions. In Villa de Álvarez, Colima, the fourth edition of the Mariachi and Charrería Festival has commenced with activities including the 'Convivencia Charra' and exhibitions of traditional Mexican equestrian sports.

Scheduled events for the festival in Villa de Álvarez include a solemn session for 'Día del Charro', a parade in Colima, and musical performances by the University of Colima's orchestra, choir, and mariachi groups. Other scheduled acts include the Mariachi Infantil and dancing horse exhibitions.

In Durango, the XXI Festival of Mariachi, Charrería, and Dance is also underway. The Mariachi Corona from Jalisco recently performed during the second gala, featuring traditional sones, huapangos, and classics by José Alfredo Jiménez. The festival continues with additional galas and musical performances, including groups such as Mariachi Galleros de Danny Rey, Los Morros del Norte, and Los Rieleros del Norte.
