Mariah Carey announces 25th anniversary vinyl reissue of ‘Glitter’ soundtrack

Mariah Carey is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her ‘Glitter’ soundtrack with a special re-release. The album, which accompanied her 2001 film of the same name, is being issued on vinyl for the first time since its original release.

Available formats include a limited edition ‘Glittering Pink’ 2-LP set, which includes three bonus tracks and a signed lithograph, as well as a ‘Midnight Purple’ 2-LP edition. The reissue also features a digital edition containing previously unreleased archival recordings.

While the original film and soundtrack faced critical backlash and commercial difficulties upon their release in September 2001, the album has since developed a dedicated cult following. This resurgence was notably supported by the ‘#JusticeforGlitter’ fan campaign in 2018.
