Marian Halas receives European Judo Union award

Marian Halas, a coach from Olimpia VSK in Satu Mare, has been honored by the European Judo Union (EJU) as the ‘Most Progressive European Male Referee of 2025’. The award was presented during the EJU ‘Family Dinner’ gala held in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Halas was one of only 12 European referees selected to officiate at the EJU Junior European Championships, which took place from September 3 to 6. The recognition highlights his exceptional professional development and performance. Halas stated that the award provides confidence for his ongoing goal of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. His next international assignment is scheduled for the Budapest Grand Slam in mid-September.
