Marian Wnuk, decorated para-athlete and activist, passes away

Marian Wnuk, a distinguished athlete and activist for people with disabilities, has passed away. Recognized as a Meritorious Citizen of Bielsko-Biała, Wnuk overcame challenges caused by polio to achieve significant success in multiple sporting disciplines.

Throughout his career, Wnuk earned a total of 283 medals in competitions ranging from regional events to World Championships. His athletic achievements spanned swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, and athletics, including titles in shot put and discus throw.

In addition to his sporting career, Wnuk was an active participant in social organizations and was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 2007.
