Mariana and Caxias do Sul fund addiction and mental‑health aid

The municipality of Mariana in Minas Gerais transferred R$ 741,782.82 to the therapeutic community Emanuel (COTEREM) to sustain and expand services for people recovering from substance dependence, including psychological counseling, spiritual support and social reintegration. Mayor Juliano Duarte said the investment strengthens community well‑being.

In Rio Grande do Sul, the city of Caxias do Sul announced the use of R$ 315,000 recovered from state emergency funds to broaden psychosocial care after the 2024 floods. R$ 65,492 will be granted to Associação Mão Amiga for community mental‑health activities in the hardest‑hit neighborhoods, while the remaining R$ 250,000 will finance new multidisciplinary teams for the municipal psychosocial network.
