Mariana Treviño denies assaulting wardrobe staff in viral video
Mexican actress Mariana Treviño has denied allegations that she physically assaulted a wardrobe technician during a performance of the musical ‘Mentiras: All Stars’ in Los Angeles, California.
The controversy began after a video clip circulated on social media, appearing to show Treviño struggling with a wig during a costume change on stage. Claims surfaced suggesting the incident led to her dismissal from the production. However, both Treviño and producer Alejandro Gou have dismissed these rumors as false.
Treviño stated, “I would never disrespect someone from the crew, never; how would I ever think of raising my hand to them, nor would they to us.” Producer Alejandro Gou clarified that the footage captured a logistical mishap rather than an assault, explaining that the wig fell and Treviño threw it in frustration, which viewers misinterpreted as a strike against the staff.
Treviño further noted that the chaotic nature of the costume change was partly due to staffing shortages caused by visa processing issues for the regular crew during the international tour.
