Marianna Aprile to present book on women's rights in Moltrasio

Journalist and author Marianna Aprile will present her book, ‘La promessa: Dal suffragio femminile alla prima donna a Palazzo Chigi’, in Moltrasio on September 30. The event is organized by the Municipality of Moltrasio in collaboration with the Associazione Parolario.

The book examines the history of women's rights in Italy, beginning with the pivotal year of 1946 when women gained the right to vote and be elected. Aprile traces the eighty years following this milestone, covering major societal shifts such as divorce laws, family law reform, maternity protections, wage parity, and abortion rights.

During the presentation at Cooperativa Moltrasina, Aprile will engage in a dialogue with journalist Michela Vitale to discuss the current state of gender equality and whether the historical ‘promise’ of full citizenship has been fulfilled.
