Marianna Lorenzetti celebrates 100th birthday in Maiolati Spontini, Italy

On 1 August 2026, Marianna Lorenzetti turned 100 years old in the village of Moie, part of the municipality of Maiolati Spontini. The centenarian’s celebration was held at her home and was attended by family members—including sons Marco and Francesco Brutti, daughter‑in‑law Anna‑Maria and niece Arianna—as well as local officials.

Mayor Sebastiano Mazzarini, Vice‑Mayor Roberta Romagnoli and parish priest Don Igor joined the gathering. The municipal administration presented a parchment praising Lorenzetti as a “living heritage” whose life exemplifies memory, values and wisdom for younger generations. Romagnoli emphasized that elderly citizens like her are a precious asset to the community, and the event highlighted the town’s reputation for longevity.

Relatives described Lorenzetti as “the mother of all,” noting her joy, tenacity, altruism and her famous gnocchi recipe, which she has shared with family and neighbours.
