Marianna Toumasatou praises Alexis Tsipras as honest at Greek Left Alliance event

Actress Marianna Toumasatou publicly expressed her support for former prime minister Alexis Tsipras, describing him as “very honest” and a “historical figure” who answers questions directly. She likened his presence to that of celebrated actress Aliki Vougialaka, saying, “as good as any actress Vougialaka had, he would still stand out.”

Toumasatou explained that her role in presenting the Greek Left Alliance’s event was a personal choice by Tsipras and noted her past school‑mate relationship with fellow presenter Amilios Heilakis. She also clarified she has no intention of seeking political office, stating she will not run for any position.

The comments were made during an appearance on the Action24 programme “Kalytera Arga” and have drawn media attention in Greece.
