Marianna Tumatasou denounces societal decay in candid interview

Greek actress Marianna Tumatasou spoke to the magazine Enjoy, offering a frank assessment of contemporary Greece. She said the public is "very angry" and described the nation as "walking in a swamp", criticizing widespread scandals, rising living costs and the strain on families whose wages are halved each month.

Tumatasou highlighted specific controversies, including the unresolved case of the 57 victims in the Tempi train disaster, the stalled railway project, and the OPEKEPE procurement scandal, which she termed "absurdities" and "disgraceful". She also condemned the media’s role in obscuring truth, noting that appearances often outweigh reality in politics and even in personal life, likening it to a theatrical performance.

Her remarks reflect growing public frustration with perceived corruption and deteriorating socioeconomic conditions in Greece.
