Marianne Flippo reveals family history in $6M scam legal battle

Marianne Flippo, a widow of a wealthy Roblox programmer, has disclosed significant family details during a legal confrontation in Manhattan. According to court transcripts filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Flippo revealed that her late husband’s father, James Michael Flippo, was a West Virginia pastor who murdered his wife, Cheryl, in 1996.

Flippo made these statements during a July 7 meeting with her attorney, Larry Hutcher, and Greggory Starr, the man she accuses of scamming her out of $6 million. Flippo alleged that Starr exercised “Svengali-like control” over her following her husband's suicide. She used the revelation of her father-in-law’s criminal past to assert that she is not intimidated by Starr, noting that she had previously lived under the same roof as a man who had committed murder and threatened her life.
