Marianne Vos wins second Gravel World Championship in Australia
Marianne Vos has secured her second UCI Gravel World Championship title in Nannup, Australia. The 39-year-old Dutch cyclist won the elite women's race following a highly competitive battle on a demanding, muddy course characterized by significant elevation changes.
Vos's victory was secured after a late-race duel with Germany's Rosa Klöser. While Klöser showed immense strength, recovering from a puncture to challenge for the lead, she lost control of her bicycle during a descent in the final kilometers, allowing Vos to take the win. Larissa Hartog finished third.
This victory marks Vos's 15th world title across various cycling disciplines. The win was particularly emotional for the veteran rider, who noted the personal significance of the achievement following the passing of her father earlier this year.
