Mariato rice producers secure insurance for 68 hectares

In the Mariato district of Veraguas, Panama, two rice producers have secured insurance for a total of 68 hectares of crops through the Instituto de Seguro Agropecuario (ISA). The protected areas include 7 hectares of Alanjeña 22 variety in Arenas and 61 hectares of IDIAP 069 variety in Cacao.

The producers utilized their own resources to fund these policies, aiming to mitigate agricultural risks and protect their investments against potential natural events or accidents during the current agricultural cycle. The ISA has encouraged other producers in the Veraguas province to seek similar coverage to ensure the continuity of their activities.
