Maribel Guardia files legal complaints against Imelda Tuñón

A legal conflict between Mexican actress Maribel Guardia and her former daughter-in-law, Imelda Garza Tuñón, has intensified following multiple criminal complaints. Guardia has filed reports with the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office involving allegations of homicide and crimes against health related to the 2023 death of her son, singer Julián Figueroa. These actions stem from Tuñón’s public admissions that she obtained controlled medications by misrepresenting symptoms to a psychiatrist to provide them to Figueroa.

Additionally, Guardia’s legal team has filed a new complaint for the alleged abandonment of minor José Julián. The dispute arose after Tuñón traveled to the United States with the child and subsequently returned to Mexico alone, leaving the boy's current location and caregiver unknown. Tuñón has stated that the child is safe and attending school in an undisclosed location, but she has refused to reveal his exact whereabouts.

Tuñón has denied fleeing the country to evade justice, asserting that she has not received any judicial notifications restricting her travel. She has also criticized Guardia’s attorney, Alonso Beceiro, claiming his legal strategies have permanently severed the bond between Guardia and her grandson.
