Maribo apartment fire leads to rescue and evacuation

A fire broke out in an apartment on Vestergade in Maribo on Saturday afternoon. One resident had to be rescued from the ground floor and was subsequently taken to the hospital for examination.

Black smoke was observed coming from the windows, and flames spread to the stairwell, threatening to reach the second floor before firefighters arrived and contained the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
