Maribor celebrates traditional rafting heritage on the Drava River

The Tourist Society Maribor organized a traditional rafting baptism on the Drava River banks at Lentu to preserve the city's local rafting heritage. The event featured a parade accompanied by music and attracted numerous spectators.

During the ceremony, Alen Pungartnik and Saša Najglič were officially inducted into the rafting guild after demonstrating their skills, including wood sawing, and undergoing a symbolic baptism with Drava water. The ceremony was overseen by godparents Stane Kocutar and Maribor wine queen Natalija Ploj.
