Maribor secures additional funding for Rotovž cultural center

The Municipality of Maribor has signed an annex to secure an additional 20.7 million euros for the Rotovž Center – City House of Culture project. This brings the total estimated value of the project to 39.7 million euros, with over 36.7 million euros being sourced from various state and European funds.

The new cultural hub in central Maribor will house the Maribor Library, the Art Gallery Maribor, and the municipal cinema under one roof. Designed to revitalize Rotovž Square, the center will also feature event spaces, educational areas, and a cafe, serving as a multifunctional social and cultural meeting point.

In a separate development regarding sustainability, the Youth Cultural Center Maribor (MKC Maribor) has concluded its two-year 'Green Step for Culture' project. Funded by the Ministry of Culture's Climate Change Fund, the initiative focused on empowering public cultural institutions to implement sustainable practices and reduce their carbon footprints through practical organizational solutions.
