Maricá begins construction of Beth Carvalho and Maysa Matarazzo museums
The municipality of Maricá has commenced construction and renovation work for the Beth Carvalho House Museum and the Maysa Matarazzo House Museum. These new cultural sites are designed to integrate into the city’s ‘Caminho das Artes’ (Path of the Arts) circuit.
The projects involve the structural adaptation, expansion, and renovation of existing properties. The interventions are being executed by the Maricá Development Company (Codemar), while the Maricá Culture and Tourism Company (MARÉ) will be responsible for managing the cultural circuit.
These museums aim to preserve the legacies of two significant figures in Brazilian music and culture. The initiative is intended to serve residents, students, researchers, and tourists, strengthening Maricá’s position as a destination for cultural tourism and economic development. The new facilities will join existing local landmarks such as the Darcy Ribeiro House Museum and Cine Henfil.
