Maricá celebrates Nossa Senhora do Amparo with religious festivities and free concerts

The city of Maricá is celebrating the Feast of Nossa Senhora do Amparo, the municipality's patron saint, with a weekend of religious services and free musical performances at Praça Orlando de Barros Pimentel.

On Saturday, August 15, the religious schedule includes an alvorada at 6:00 AM, several masses, a solemn procession, and a Santa Missa Campal at 4:00 PM. The evening musical lineup features Guilherme de Sá at 8:00 PM and Mumuzinho at 10:00 PM.

Sunday, August 16, continues with masses at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 6:00 PM. The cultural programming includes Grupo Oh Sorte at 7:30 PM, the União de Maricá battery at 8:30 PM, and a closing performance by Suel at 9:30 PM. Organizers have noted safety measures, such as prohibiting glass containers and providing identification bracelets for children.
