Maricá celebrates Feast of Nossa Senhora do Amparo with religious and musical events

The city of Maricá, located on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, concluded its annual Festa da Padroeira celebrating Nossa Senhora do Amparo. The multi-day event combined religious devotion with large-scale cultural festivities, attracting thousands of residents and tourists.

Religious activities included dawn services, masses at the Matriz Church, and a traditional solemn procession through the streets of the city center. The cultural program, held at Praça Orlando de Barros Pimentel, featured various musical performances, including shows by Guilherme de Sá, Mumuzinho, and Suel, as well as the União de Maricá samba school.

Local officials, including Secretary of Event Promotion Rony Peterson, noted that the celebration serves as a significant economic driver for the municipality, supporting local entrepreneurs and boosting the tourism sector through organized public events.
