Maricá launches free tech and health courses for residents
The municipality of Maricá opened registrations for a free online minicourse titled “Computational Thinking – Module 1.” The four‑session course runs from 3 September to 24 September, Thursdays 18:00‑20:00 via Google Meet, and is open to anyone over 16, including students, health and education professionals, and the general public. Forty spots are available and the program aims to develop logical reasoning, problem‑solving skills and basic computational concepts.
In a separate initiative, Maricá’s Secretariat of Science and Technology began the second module of a course on rare syndromes and neurodevelopmental disorders affecting children and adolescents. Held at the University of Vassouras campus, the training is led by Dr. Rita Sant’Anna and targets professionals and students who work with youth. The program seeks to improve inclusive care and provide practical tools for diagnosing and supporting young people with developmental conditions.
