Maricá Municipality invests R$22.7 million in free‑flight access and launches night walking event
The Prefeitura de Maricá announced a R$22.7 million investment to improve access to the free‑flight point at Retiro. The project will add drainage, paving and road upgrades over an 18‑month period, with work slated to begin in the second half of 2026. Officials say the upgrades will enhance safety, mobility and the area's appeal for ecotourism.
On 6 May the city held the second edition of the nighttime "Caminhada do Bem" at Arena São José, a program of the Viver Bem initiative that encourages physical activity and community well‑being. Secretary of Quality of Life, Reinaldo Cunha, emphasized the municipality’s commitment to promoting healthy habits and social integration for residents of all ages.
