Maricá schedules major June and August festivals, featuring João Gomes and local music acts
The municipality of Maricá confirmed popular singer João Gomes as the opening act for the Festa da Padroeira, which will run from August 13‑16, 2026 on the Barra de Maricá. The event, organized by the city's Culture and Tourism Company (MARÉ) and other municipal secretariats, aims to blend religious tradition with cultural performances, drawing visitors and supporting the local economy.
Earlier in July, the town's annual Festa de São João continued at Praça do Spar on July 4‑5 with free live performances of pagode, samba and sertanejo by regional artists. The celebration includes food stalls, family‑friendly security measures such as municipal guard patrols and child‑identification bracelets, and outreach services for women.
Both festivals are part of Maricá’s effort to promote cultural heritage, encourage tourism and provide communal leisure activities for residents and guests.
