Maricopa County and Nevada report early voting trends
In Maricopa County, Arizona, officials addressed a viral video used to allege election fraud. The video, posted by the We the People AZ Alliance, showed employees in a secure tabulation center using flash drives. Maricopa County Elections and the Board of Supervisors clarified that the employees were performing authorized software updates to the ballot duplication system following mandatory logic and accuracy testing. Officials stated the work did not involve the Election Management System or the tabulators and was necessary for processing damaged ballots.
In Nevada, early voting data shows a split in participation methods. On a recent Thursday, registered Republicans accounted for 45.1% of in-person early ballots cast, compared to 34.2% for Democrats. However, when combining all early voting methods, Democrats maintained a four-point lead overall, driven by an 8.9-point advantage in mail-in voting. The Nevada early-voting period is scheduled to run through October 30, ahead of Election Day on November 3.
In Maricopa County, a recent batch of 76,806 returned ballots showed a 1.6-point Republican advantage, with registered Republicans at 38.9% and Democrats at 37.3%. Statewide in Arizona, as of Thursday morning, Democrats held 39% of returned early ballots compared to 38% for Republicans.
