Marie Dumora documentary explores Struthof camp history

The documentary film ‘La Ligne bleue’ by Marie Dumora explores the historical traces and memories of the Struthof concentration camp in Alsace. Established in 1941 during the Nazi annexation of the region, the camp and its access roads were constructed by forced laborers.

Through testimonies from local residents and witnesses, the film examines the landscape of the Vosges and the surrounding villages, such as Natzwiller, Rothau, and La Broque. It seeks to exhume the buried history of the Natzweiler complex, where approximately 52,000 people were detained and at least 17,000 perished. The documentary aims to highlight this often overlooked chapter of history by juxtaposing the peaceful modern landscape with the traumatic past of the site.
