Marie Vonderheyden wins Paralympic Dressage World Championship

American equestrian Marie Vonderheyden has been crowned the Paralympic Dressage World Champion in Aachen. Competing in the Grade I category alongside her horse, Fan Tastico H, she achieved a score of 76.709%.

This victory marks a significant personal milestone for Vonderheyden, occurring eleven years after a life-threatening accident in 2015. Following a severe traumatic brain injury that left her in a coma for two months and caused paralysis and memory loss, she utilized riding as a form of therapy. This recovery eventually led to her professional transition into international Paralympic Dressage competition.
