Marigliano Mayor Gaetano Bocchino withdraws resignation

Gaetano Bocchino has officially withdrawn his resignation as the mayor of Marigliano, citing the need to respond to widespread support from citizens and political coalition members. Bocchino stated that his decision followed a period of deep reflection and an awareness of the responsibility felt by the community. He intends to enter a new administrative phase by forming a functional government team focused on priorities such as waste management, public green spaces, school maintenance, road repairs, and urban development.

However, the local branch of the Fratelli d’Italia party has criticized the move, labeling the withdrawal of the resignation as a ‘great bluff.’ The party expressed skepticism regarding the stability of the administration, noting that while the resignation was retracted, a new municipal council (Giunta) has yet to be formed. Fratelli d’Italia emphasized that the city requires effective governance and competence rather than political maneuvering, warning that the current political crisis remains unresolved.
