Mediterranean Games: Balkan athletes secure multiple medals in Taranto
Athletes from several Balkan nations achieved significant success at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.
In athletics, Adriana Vilagoš won the gold medal in javelin throw with a Games record of 65.93 meters. Croatian athlete Sara Kolak secured the bronze medal with a throw of 62.64 meters.
In high jump, Montenegrin athlete Marija Vuković successfully defended her title, winning the gold medal with a jump of 1.94 meters.
Croatia also reached a historic milestone at the Games, securing its 37th medal, surpassing its previous record of 34 medals set in 1993. Croatian medalists included Boran Berak and Ema Sgardelli in karate, and rowers Josipa Jurković and Goran Mahmutović, who earned silver.
