Marijana Camović Veličković elected president of Media Union of Montenegro

Marijana Camović Veličković has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Media Union of Montenegro (SMCG). The decision was reached during the union's fifth Assembly, which was attended by 30 delegates from all member organizations.

In addition to the new presidency, a new Main Board was elected for a four-year mandate. For the first time, the board will include a representative from the Youth and Freelancers Section, Ivana Vlaović.

Camović Veličković emphasized that the union must remain a safe space for media workers. She highlighted the organization's ongoing efforts to protect journalists, address the impact of artificial intelligence on journalism, and fight for improved and more dignified working conditions. A primary goal for the upcoming term is the signing of a Grand Collective Agreement to improve salaries and labor conditions across the media sector.
