Marijn van den Berg wins stage two of Tour of Luxembourg

Marijn van den Berg of EF Education-EasyPost won the second stage of the Tour of Luxembourg, winning a mass sprint in Junglinster. The 166.8-kilometer stage began in Niederkorn and featured undulating terrain and a selective circuit.

Van den Berg’s victory, combined with time bonuses, allowed him to overtake Mathieu van der Poel in the general classification. Van der Poel, who had won the opening stage, finished fifth in the sprint. The podium was completed by Timo Kielich of Team Visma | Lease a Bike in second place and Pierre Gautherat of Decathlon CMA CGM Team in third.

The stage was marked by several breakaway attempts, including a group of seven riders and a later move by riders from ColoQuick. Despite late attacks from Søren Kragh Andersen and Mattéo Vercher, the peloton regained control before the final sprint.
