Marika Gombitová launches 70th birthday concert tour

Slovak pop singer Marika Gombitová has launched her 70th birthday tour, beginning with a sold-out concert at the Handball Aréna in Prešov. The performance celebrated both her 70th birthday and her 50-year career on stage.

The concert featured a repertoire of her greatest hits, including ‘Vyznanie’, and included medleys from her musical ‘Neberte nám princeznú’. Guest performers included Lukáš Adamec, Ondrej Kandráč, Daniel Hůlka, and Kamila Nývltová. The tour is scheduled to continue with stops in Prague and Bratislava.

In recent reflections on her life and career, Gombitová discussed the profound impact of a 1980 car accident that left her using a wheelchair. She expressed gratitude for her resilience and her ability to continue her musical mission despite the challenges, noting that faith has been a primary driver in her ability to move forward.
