Washington Heights: Man arrested for murder and reports of assault

The New York Police Department has arrested 41-year-old Tiliek Shamel Thompson in connection with the homicide of 27-year-old Lovay Williams in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Williams was found dead in her apartment on West 156th Street on September 6, with visible injuries to her face and neck. Her seven-year-old daughter was present in the home during the incident.

Thompson faces 11 charges, including murder, strangulation, assault, and abandonment of a minor. In a separate but related report of violence in the same neighborhood, a Hispanic man was also reported assaulted in an apartment building on 181st Street, where he was knocked unconscious and robbed of money and documents by an unknown assailant.
