Marilândia do Sul residents eligible for FGTS withdrawals after storms

The federal government has recognized a state of emergency in Marilândia do Sul following severe weather events between August and September. A major storm on September 21 caused significant damage, including uprooted trees and broken utility poles, affecting at least 226 people.

Due to the emergency status, eligible residents may apply for the FGTS Calamity Withdrawal (Saque Calamidade), which allows workers to access funds from their severance pay accounts following natural disasters. To facilitate this, the municipal administration is providing guidance and documentation support at the Sala de Fomento starting Tuesday, September 20. Residents are advised to verify their eligibility and the necessary requirements through the local government.
