Marilyn Monroe centenary marked by Berlin exhibition and Venice short‑film premiere

The German History Museum in Berlin opened a summer retrospective titled “Everyone Likes It Hot” to commemorate what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday. The program runs from mid‑July to early August, showcasing a range of Monroe’s films and offering commentary on her cultural impact.

In Venice, the 83rd Venice Film Festival will premiere the short film “Flesh Impact”, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. The film stars Dakota Johnson as a younger Monroe and Ellen Burstyn as an older version, re‑imagining the icon’s legacy. Burstyn will also receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the festival.
