Marilyn Monroe exhibition in Greece marks 64 years since her death
On August 4‑5, 2026 the 64th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death was observed with a major exhibition at the Museum of the Academy of Cinema in Greece. The show, titled “Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon,” displays hundreds of authentic production documents, personal letters, and iconic costumes such as the pink dress from The Seven Year Itch.
The exhibition is part of a wave of new displays and documentaries that aim to reassess Monroe’s image. Curators present her not merely as a fragile blonde star but as a pioneering entrepreneur who deliberately shaped her own Hollywood persona, turning her public image into a purposeful work of art.
