Marina di Pisa basketball court opens with €100,000 municipal investment

On July 28, the Comune of Pisa inaugurated a new regulation‑size basketball court in Marina di Pisa, located at the intersection of via Salvini and via Milazzo within a green area adjacent to the Trammino cycle path.

The €100,000 project, funded by the municipality, includes a fenced playing area, two hoops and floodlighting for evening use. It is accessible via existing park routes and a ramp that accommodates reduced‑mobility users.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Michele Conti, sports‑facilities assessor Frida Scarpa and public‑green spaces assessor Virginia Mancini, who highlighted the court’s role in providing safe, free sport facilities for youth and strengthening community cohesion as part of Pisa’s ongoing investment in public sports infrastructure.
