Marina di Ragusa medical guard faces citizen complaints over access
Residents and tourists in Marina di Ragusa have raised concerns that the local medical guard is not being activated and that citizens seeking care are being turned away. Several people reported that staff slammed doors in their faces and some felt they were assaulted while trying to obtain assistance.
Local councilor Rocco Bitetti highlighted the issue, and Filippo Angelica, the Italia Viva coordinator for Ragusa, echoed his worries, describing the situation as a serious breach of the right to health. Angelica said a citizen who asked to meet ASP manager Giuseppe Drago to report the incidents was ignored, underscoring a perceived indifference from health‑service leadership.
