Marina Ferrari supports athletes at World Cup and addresses judo harassment

French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari has been active in supporting various athletic disciplines. She visited Vaires-sur-Marne to attend the canoe-kayak slalom World Cup finals at the Olympic Nautical Stadium. Her presence was intended to support French athletes and recognize the dynamism of the sport within the country.

Separately, Minister Ferrari addressed the issue of online harassment following reports that judoka Léa Fontaine was targeted by weight-based discrimination on social media. Fontaine, who recently won the Lausanne Grand Slam and reached the world number one ranking in her category, filed a complaint after facing digital attacks regarding her physical appearance. The French Judo Federation has also condemned the discrimination.
