Marina Ibrahim appointed to Johor welfare and Orang Asli roles
Marina Ibrahim, the former Skudai state assemblywoman, has received two significant appointments focused on community welfare and social work in Johor.
She has been appointed as a special officer for the Orang Asli community under the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation. Announced by Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Ibrahim will serve as a special representative of the Sultan of Johor to engage with and address the needs of the state’s Orang Asli population. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed confidence that her direct engagement with villages would help identify and address community challenges.
Additionally, Ibrahim has joined the board of Yayasan Penyayang Iskandar Puteri (YPIP), a non-profit welfare body overseen by the Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri. YPIP provides residents with financial assistance, educational initiatives, and community support. These roles follow Ibrahim’s decision to step away from active party politics to focus on grassroots social work.
