Stavraki stated that she does not regret her actions, asserting that she never regrets the choices she makes. The dispute arose after Patoulis, the former Governor of Attica and current President of the Medical Association of Athens, posted a video discussing his future political plans and potential candidacies.
In response to the public exchange, Patoulis noted that he has no relationship with his former wife and emphasized that he would personally announce any future political decisions. The two were married for 35 years before separating in 2021.
