Giorgos Patoulis responds to ex-wife Marina Stavraki's social media comment

A public dispute has emerged on social media between former Attica Regional Governor Giorgos Patoulis and his ex-wife, Marina Stavraki. The tension escalated after Patoulis posted a video addressing rumors regarding his potential return to politics, specifically regarding candidacy for the municipalities of Athens, Pefki, or Marousi.

Stavraki responded to the video with a sharp five-word comment: ‘Where are you going to run, you wretch?’ (Πού να κατέβεις βρε κακομοίρη;). This follows a previous instance where Stavraki criticized Patoulis for sharing photos of their son on social media, arguing that children should not be used as social media content.

Patoulis responded to the remark by stating that he and Stavraki no longer have any relationship, noting that they divorced in 2021 and he remarried in 2024. He emphasized that ‘everyone is characterized by their words and actions’ and maintained that he would personally announce any future political decisions rather than letting rumors dictate the narrative.
