Marinakis claims PASOK has become a satellite party of Tsipras
Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis has accused the PASOK party of becoming a “satellite party” of Alexis Tsipras. The criticism follows comments made by PASOK MP Apostolos Panas regarding potential cooperation with the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS).
During an interview, Panas suggested that ELAS operates on a social democratic axis and questioned what the harm would be in such a connection. Marinakis responded by claiming that Panas’s remarks serve to cover the remaining 20% of programmatic overlap between the two parties, following previous allegations that Tsipras had copied 80% of PASOK’s platform.
Marinakis further criticized PASOK under the leadership of Nikos Androulakis, alleging the party has moved toward populism and extreme rhetoric. He specifically cited the party's stance on the Tempi train tragedy and its support for motions of no confidence against the government.
