Marine Industries Association of South Florida announces RefitX

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) has announced the launch of RefitX, a new two-day conference and exhibition dedicated to the yacht refit industry. Scheduled to debut during the 2027 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the event will be held at the Broward County Convention Center.

RefitX aims to provide a forum for shipyards, designers, engineers, and technology providers to address industry challenges such as vessel modernization, efficiency, and sustainability. The announcement coincides with increased federal support for the U.S. maritime industrial base, noting that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration Small Shipyard Grant Program rose from $8.75 million in fiscal year 2025 to $35 million in fiscal year 2026.
