Marine Police seize RM949,160 worth of diesel and lorries in Masai
The Marine Police Force Region Two seized 23,000 liters of diesel and five lorries during an operation known as Op Taring Landai in Taman Kota Puteri, Masai. The total value of the seized items is estimated at approximately RM949,160.
Conducted by the Johor Marine Intelligence Unit following public tips regarding the misuse of subsidized diesel, the operation began around 11:45 a.m. Initial inspections of two lorries on Jalan Penaga revealed diesel stored in rectangular tanks. Subsequent questioning of a 50-year-old local man, suspected of acting as a distributor, led authorities to three additional lorries parked nearby.
The seized equipment includes two Isuzu, two Hino, and one Mitsubishi Fuso lorry, along with 24 rectangular tanks, two electric pumps, and hoses. Preliminary investigations suggest the illegal activity had been operating for about two months. The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961, and the suspect and goods have been handed over to the Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
