Maringá police shoot fugitive during station invasion

A 48-year-old fugitive was shot and seriously injured after invading a Civil Police station in Maringá, Paraná. The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Saturday.

According to the Civil Police, the man kicked and broke the glass entrance door to gain access to the public service area and subsequently attempted to enter a restricted zone. He reportedly tried to break a second door to reach the restricted sector and advanced toward officers on duty.

In response to the confrontation, police officers discharged firearms, striking the man in the chest, neck, and face. Emergency services, including SAMU, the Fire Department, and the Military Police, attended the scene. The individual, who has a criminal record and was a fugitive from the Maringá Industrial Penal Colony (CPIM), was intubated and transported to a hospital in serious condition.
