Maringá to expand tree removal capacity to 1,200 per month

The city of Maringá is implementing new strategies to address a significant backlog of tree pruning and removal requests. Currently, there are over 6,500 pending requests, including approximately 420 classified as urgent. Some residents in neighborhoods like Jardim Alvorada have reportedly been waiting up to seven years for service.

To resolve the issue, the municipal government plans to expand its infrastructure. This includes hiring new forestry engineers to double the capacity for tree assessments and finalizing a bidding process to contract a specialized pruning company. The goal is to increase the workforce to 10 teams, which would allow for the removal of approximately 1,200 trees per month.
