Maringá to host relic of Saint Carlo Acutis
The city of Maringá will host a public visitation of a first-degree relic of Saint Carlo Acutis on Monday, October 19. The sacred collection, consisting of two strands of the Italian saint's hair, will be available for veneration at Colégio Regina Mundi from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Known as the “patron saint of the internet,” Carlo Acutis was a young man who used his computer engineering skills to catalog Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions. Born in London and raised in Milan, he died of leukemia in 2006. His path to sainthood by the Vatican included miracles, the first of which was recorded in Brazil.
Before arriving in Maringá, the relic's itinerary through northern Paraná included Mandaguaçu, where religious programming included film screenings and public veneration at Colégio São Francisco de Assis.
