Marino celebrates 102nd Sagra dell’Uva festival

The 102nd Sagra dell’Uva in Marino, a century-old grape festival in the Castelli Romani region, concluded its multi-weekend celebration held between late September and early October. The event featured historical reenactments, including a procession with over 200 participants depicting the return of Marcantonio Colonna, and traditional displays such as the “miracle of the wine fountains.”

The festival drew significant political and religious figures, including Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida and Vice President of the Council and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. During a religious service at the Basilica of San Barnaba, Minister Tajani experienced a brief episode of low blood pressure and received medical assistance from emergency personnel before recovering.

While the event attracted thousands of visitors, it also faced logistical challenges. Reports indicated significant overcrowding in the historic center and delays on the railway line connecting Rome to Marino. Authorities noted typical issues related to large crowds and alcohol consumption, though no major incidents were reported.
