Mariánské Lázně completes new pedestrian and cyclist path
The town of Mariánské Lázně has completed the construction of a nearly two-kilometer mixed-use path for pedestrians and cyclists connecting Úšovice to Skláře. The project, which cost 22.5 million CZK and was fully funded by the municipal budget, aims to increase safety by separating foot and cycle traffic from the main road.
Mayor Martin Hurajčík noted that the path includes safety barriers as requested by traffic police to protect users from passing vehicles. To preserve a local lime tree alley, excavation work was performed manually, and the path was constructed with lower layers to ensure water infiltration.
The city plans to continue work on connecting the path to Plzeňská street and intends to extend the route toward Chodová Planá in the neighboring Plzeň Region.
