Marinus Obermair attempts Danube swim world record in yfood River Race 350
Marinus Obermair, a 23‑year‑old adventure creator and extreme athlete known as MovelikeG, launched a 350‑kilometre swim of the Danube from Passau, Germany, to Bratislava, Slovakia. He aims to set a new world record by completing the route within 72 hours, battling strong currents, night‑time conditions and sleep deprivation.
The attempt is backed by celebrities Sophia Thomalla, Joey Kelly and Luca Hänni, with livestream host Jan Mihm providing continuous coverage from a specially equipped yfood houseboat. Physiotherapists, medics and the Worldchanger Foundation support Obermair, using the event to raise funds for mental‑health services for children and adolescents.
